An Unexpected Journey…

The Shire, from J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” was a beautiful and considerably sleepy little place in the grand scheme of Middle Earth. It was here, after a visit from Gandalf and a group of dwarves, that the ordinary Bilbo Baggins was invited on a journey, a journey for which he initially felt drastically under-qualified, which even made him question the sanity of the one asking. After several initial declines, he decided to say “yes”, and his life changed forever.

"Each step along the journey he had to make a choice..."

“Each step along the journey he had to make a choice…”

He became part of a grander story, one that ultimately helped him realize the depths of his identity, find a greater sense of purpose, and restore things that had gone wrong in the lives of others and the world. Each step along the journey he had to make a choice, he could turn back as things got harder and what lay ahead was unclear and potentially scary, or he could continue on and see through to completion the quest for which he was born.

This story resonates deep within me…

Arkadelphia, AR is a beautiful and considerably sleepy little place in the grand scheme of our world. However, it was here, after a visit from the Lord, that this ordinary guy was invited on a journey. A journey for which I initially felt drastically under-qualified, which even made me question the sanity of the One asking. After several initial declines, I decided to say “yes”, and my life changed forever. I became part of the grander story that the Lord had planned for me, one that has helped me realize the depths of my identity, a greater sense of purpose, and it has restored things that have gone wrong in the lives of others and the world. Each step along my journey I have had to make a choice, I could turn back as things got harder and what lay ahead was unclear and potentially scary, or I could continue on and see through to completion the quest for which I was born.

God the Father made it abundantly clear to me back in 1999 while in school at Ouachita Baptist University, that His plan for me was to spend my life following Him and making others who follow Him. My family and I said “yes” long ago and have been anxiously awaiting the day we would be able to travel to the beautiful island of Taiwan, plant roots there, and follow His leading as we make disciples, teaching them to do all that Jesus taught and demonstrated to His followers.

We would like to invite you along on this adventure and would be honored if you would be willing to partner with us in this story that is being written. You can go to our “Donate” button at the top to help support us financially and/or click on our “Connect” button to subscribe for updates (in the future, we will be communicating more via video). To those who decide to partner with us we say, “thank you.” Our prayer is that even if you are not ever able to physically be with us while in Taiwan, you would realize and be rewarded greatly for the integral part your partnership plays. We pray also that you would be encouraged in the path the Lord has for you and your life on this amazing adventure of following Him – whether that be as a stay-at-home mom, businessman, blue-collar worker, business owner, or in ministry.

Love,

Clay
